New blog up and running
I forgot to post this here before now. A couple of months ago I finally got a new quick to post to blog up and running, since I hardly ever seem to update this one other then when I write tutorials and guide.
To make a long story short: I created a blog using emacs, org-mode, jekyll and git/gitosis. The result: When browsing the net, or working in emacs all I have to do to post in my blog (including the url of the page I'm on if I'm browsing) is: Hit a keyboard shortcut, type the blog entry as org-mode formated text, save it, hit a second keyboard shortcut.Read more »
gsmblog on new CMF and other news
I've finally got gsmblog.net up and running on a new CMF. It's really a relief to get rid of the old crappy Joomla the site was running off previously. The new site has been up and running for a bit more than a week, and so far there seems not to be any major problems. I still have to do a lot of tweaking here and there, specially on the Norwegian version of the site. Unfortunately I've been knocked out with a fever for a few days, so I'm rather back-logged at the moment.Read more »

Masterproject
For those of you who are wondering what has happened to me, I've gone back to school. I've just started a two years masters program. And my masters topic is, *drum roll", handset localization in mobile networks. So I'm doing a master in the topic that has been my hobby for the last 10 year or so. Even though I at the moment feel like I will not have time to sleep for the next two years, hopefully I'll be able to be a bit more active here in the future. You will probably see some localization software here soon, and probably some begging for help collecting data too. Oh.Read more »

Yesterday I received a Neo Freerunner in the mail. I've spent a little bit of time installing the newest OpenMoko and also the latest QT Extended. So hopefully I'll soon start to write some apps for the Freerunner, and start writing some guides. Read more »
Quickmark yet again
There haven't been many updates here lately. I was on vacation for a month this summer, and after that I've been quite busy. I have however been working on a couple of great articles to post here. So in a short while there should be some really good updates available. This however is just a short update on what's been going on at quickmark.
New Nokia PC Suite v 6.84 out
Yesterday Nokia launched a new version of their PC-Suite software. The 6.84 version of this software in addition to enhancements to performance and stability, offers a completely new feature; the ability to synchronize files between your phone and your computer automatically.
Quickmark Symbian 3rd edition release
Quickmark has finally released their Symbian 3rd edition version barcode reader, becoming in my opinion the best barcode reader for camera cell phones available today. In my previous test Quickmark would have been the best barcode reader, but was passed by Kaywa due to the fact that they didn’t offer a 3rd edition version. This has now finally changed. The following should give you good reason to switch to Quickmark:
New N80 v 5.0719.0.2 firmware out
Nokia has released a new firmware for N80(ie) with version number v 5.0719.0.2. It's available via NSU but not FOTA. I've just installed it, so the only change noticed yet is that Y-Browser no longer works. The phone give a security error message when you try to start the app. I'll post more after more testing.
